David Moyes shares verdict on Jesse Marsch ahead of Leeds United v West Ham

David Moyes has suggested that Jesse Marsch has done “very well” at Leeds United, and it’s not difficult to understand how he operates.

The Whites will take on the Hammers in the Premier League on Wednesday (4 January) where they will be looking to get back to winning ways after failing to win in their last three games.

Moyes suggests that it’s not difficult to figure out how Marsch’s style as he follows the Red Bull model, adding that the American boss is “just getting a bit of a grip” on how the Premier League works.

“If you understand the Red Bull model, then you understand a lot of Jesse Marsch,” said Moyes, as quoted by Football London.

“The way they play, what he’s done, how the likes of Salzburg would play, how Leipzig play because the Red Bull model has got an idea of how they play and how they set up.

“He’s done it very well, he’s implicated it very well. It’s something which might take a bit of time but I think he’s just getting a bit of a grip on it. He’s had maybe six months in the Premier League or something like that now, so he’s beginning to get more used to it.”

Huge game

It’s a massive game for both clubs and Leeds should aim for all three points.

They are heading into his fixture on the back of a gutsy performance in the 0-0 draw against Newcastle United which should have given them big confidence.

West Ham are going through a wretched run of form at the moment. The Hammers have lost five games in a row, and Moyes has come under intense pressure to keep his job safe.

This is an ideal game for the Whites to pick up all three points, but whether they can do it infront of their home fans remains to be seen.

Against the Magpies, Leeds produced a solid defensive display, but they should be doing a lot more in terms of attacking.

With Patrick Bamford still out injured, the onus of responsibility falls on the shoulders of Rodrigo and Willy Gnonto.

Brenden Aaronson has looked below par since returning from the World Cup, and Leeds need a strong performance from him.

In other Leeds United news, this star man has been ruled out of the clash v West Ham while another senior ace is still a doubt.
