David Moyes aware Leeds have also made enquiries for Brereton Diaz
West Ham boss David Moyes know Leeds United have also made enquiries about Blackburn Rovers ace Ben Brereton Diaz, according to Claret and Hugh.
Their head of recruitment Rob Newman is also aware, with Newcastle United also keeping tabs on the Chilean international striker, 22, but they and the Elland Road outfit will have to part with £28.5million to sign him during the January transfer window.
The Championship outfit owners are open to a sale this window despite their promotion push and are hoping to play a few Premier League clubs off against each, but whether Leeds and co will be ready to spend almost £30million on Diaz right now remains to be seen.
Not happening?
Patrick Bamford is injured again and has only played six Premier League games so far in 2021-22, missing 14 games, and he is set to miss a couple more.
Leeds could do with another striker right now, and Diaz has proven himself this term with 20 goals and an assist in 27 league games.

He definitely can help fire them into the top half of the table if snapped up right now, and Moyes is watching with keen interest amid his links with the Elland Road outfit.
However, it appears a midfielder is top of the Whites’ plans for this month, with a £20million bid offered for the RB Salzburg ace Brenden Aaronson, and they will clearly not be spending £30million for a striker unproven at Premier League level.
Moreso, Marcelo Bielsa can also deploy one of his attackers as a number 9, and that should remain the case.
Bamford remains the first-choice, and Leeds will only be keen to bring in a cover on a bargain.
With Adam Forshaw, Junior Firpo, Sam Greenwood, Charlie Cresswell, Kalvin Phillips, Jamie Shackleton, Liam Cooper and Bamford unavailable for this weekend’s clash with Newcastle and Joe Gelhardt and Tyler Roberts doubts, the west Yorkshire giants surely have to do some transfer businesses this month.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites want to sign int’l striker on loan with move already made.
