David de Gea posts message on Leeds United’s Jack Harrison to 15m Instagram followers

David de Gea shared a message for Leeds United loanee Jack Harrison on social media following Fiorentina’s 1-1 draw with Inter Milan.

Serie A strugglers Fiorentina earned a surprise point against the league leaders on Sunday as Cher Ndour cancelled out Pio Esposito’s first-minute opener.

Fiorentina remain in trouble at the wrong end of the Italian top flight, but their fortunes have at least improved as they have climbed two points from safety.

Harrison joined La Viola in the winter transfer window and has endured a rather underwhelming time of things so far to say the least.

While Harrison’s future at Leeds remains unclear, he has certainly won over goalkeeper De Gea at Stadio Artemio Franchi.

The latest one on Monday evening was in tribute to team-mate Harrison, with De Gea writing “my brother” and tagging the winger.

Harrison shared the image on his own story and added the caption: “Amazing guy.”

Harrison played the final 20 minutes of the draw against Inter, having been used mainly from the substitutes’ bench in recent weeks.

What have Italian press made of Harrison at Fiorentina?

Harrison landed a move to Fiorentina a couple of months ago in what was supposed to be a loan switch that revived his career.

That has not quite been the case, however, as he has zero goals and just one assist in eight Serie A appearances.

He is now used mainly as a back-up player in the league, coming on as a substitute in the second half of matches.

The Italian press recently slammed Harrison at Fiorentina following their defeat to Parma earlier this month.

It seems almost certain from the outside looking in that Fiorentina will not consider purchasing Harrison permanently in the summer.

And with two years still to run on his contract at Elland Road, Leeds will be left with an unwanted player on their books.
