David Anderson: Marcelo Bielsa was not nagging Victor Orta for major Leeds United signings in January
Marcelo Bielsa was not badgering Victor Orta for major new January signings at Leeds United, according to David Anderson.
The Mirror journalist reported that Bielsa thinks his squad is already good enough to stay up in the Premier League.
Because of that, Leeds did not panic and it was said that they chose to be “hard to please” during the window.

Writing in his latest column for The Mirror, Anderson shared the atmosphere from Elland Road through the month.
“Leeds also did not panic and sign just anyone to get bodies in through the door,” he wrote.
“Leeds chose to be hard to please in January because the consistent message from Bielsa is that he believes his squad is good enough to stay up.
“He [Bielsa] was not badgering Orta every day, asking where his new signings were and he has total faith in his squad.”

No panic.
There has been a big reaction to Leeds completing no signings.
January was seen as a big opportunity for the Whites, and a chance to strengthen the squad in their bid to stay in the Premier League.
RB Salzburg star Brenden Aaronson was the one name who was identified as someone who could significantly strengthen the squad, with two bids reportedly placed.
Those failed, and Leeds have now set up that one for the summer, meaning that it would have been easy to panic in the final week of the window.
Harry Winks, Aaron Ramsey and Donny Van de Beek were all offered and turned down, so let’s hope this one doesn’t backfire.
In Bielsa we trust.
