Darren Bent and Karen Carney disagree about Leeds United and Marcelo Bielsa

Darren Bent and Karen Carney are in disagreement as to whether or not Leeds United should have parted ways with Marcelo Bielsa.

The former Premier League striker believes that the Argentine should’ve seen out the season as he was unlucky with injuries in the squad.

However, Carney, who has been a critic of Bielsa in the past, stated that Jesse Marsch would sort out their defensive woes.

Speaking on the Kelly and Wrighty Show, Bent, a Sky Sports pundit, said, “Leeds have no chance to stay up if they keep conceding like this. Marsch is a massive risk. They should’ve stuck with Bielsa.

“I’m not quite sure he’s [Marsch] the right manager. If he doesn’t get quick results, things could turn bad really quickly. Players could slack off under him.”

To which Carney responded, “He’s coming into the fittest club. Bielsa had revolutionised man marking. but they’ll do it completely differently under Marsch. It’ll be a more organised approach.

“Bielsa might have struggled if this style carried on. Marsch will make definitely them defensively solid.”

Carney wrong again

Carney continues with her anti Bielsa agenda even after he’s been shown the door.

To even suggest that Marsch would be better than the Argentine, is presumptions, to say the least.

Bielsa new the strengths and weakness of every player and was the right man to take the club out of this mess.

Just like Bent said, there’s a chance of some players slacking off under the American.

Training sessions are certainly not going to be as intense so there’s every chance that some players take it easy, especially ones that aren’t looking to stay beyond the end of the season.
