Danny Murphy wowed by Daniel Farke in new Leeds United message to Premier League
Danny Murphy has lauded Daniel Farke for his impact at Leeds United live on air, stating that the Premier League is “better” with the Whites.
A title-winning campaign during the 2019/20 season saw Leeds promoted to the Premier League for the first time after a 17-year absence but they were exiled from the top division once again last season.
Despite just the three seasons spent in the Premier League before crashing back down to the Championship, Murphy believes the league is better with Leeds competing in it, as Farke attempts to make that happen.
Speaking via talkSPORT on Tuesday (14 February, 10:58am), he said: “Credit to Daniel Farke. They had a really tough start with the ins and outs, who’s staying and going, and I think they lost two or three of the top six.
“The Premier League is better if Leeds are in it, honestly. As a player and a supporter, going there is an experience that you should enjoy and love.
“It is rammed every time you go there [Elland Road], they are really passionate about their team, and to go there as a player or fan, is a really good experience – better than others that are potentially coming up.
“As a football man, I want Leeds to go up.”
Danny Murphy wants Leeds United in the Premier League
Even despite their short stay in the Premier League, just three seasons, the fans in the top division were presented with an extremely exciting style of football right from the off.
Their first match in the Premier League in 17 years was a tough trip to Anfield, and although it ended in a Liverpool victory, neutral fans were graced with a 4-3 thriller as Jack Harrison, Patrick Bamford and Mateusz Klich welcomed themselves to the division.

There is no doubt that the Premier League is better with Leeds competing in it, especially with the unpredictability of their results. Although Marcelo Bielsa is no longer manager, Farke has introduced another type of exciting attacking play, boasting the second-best goal difference in the Championship.
With Farke’s history of winning promotion with Norwich City, there was a lot of expectation around his employment at the start of the campaign. But even this has been beyond Leeds fans’ wildest imaginations, having leapfrogged Southampton into second place on Tuesday 13 February.
In other Leeds United news, Adam Pope has shared what made Farke “really annoyed” last week.
