Danny Murphy shares ‘catastrophic’ Leeds United verdict as Daniel Farke decision made
Danny Murphy has shared his thoughts on Daniel Farke remaining as Leeds United manager after a “catastrophic” start at Elland Road.

While the Whites are set for another season in the Championship, it looks as though Farke will remain in charge at Elland Road as Leeds attempt to secure promotion for a second season.
Speaking live via talkSPORT on Wednesday (29 May, 12:25pm), Murphy said: “They had a lot of ins and outs at the start of the season. He [Farke] was late in the door and the start was catastrophic, in terms of what Leeds fans were expecting.
“He turned it around quite quickly and he’s being rewarded for that. But, ultimately, without the last bit of the season, where they couldn’t win, they’d be up by now. There must be a huge disappointment.
“The question you have to ask is – who is better to come in and work with that group? So it’s nice to hear him being supported. He’s going to have to do some wheeling and dealing though.”
Daniel Farke set to remain as Leeds United manager
There are few managers with the same depth of experience that Farke has in the Championship, having led Norwich City to promotion on two separate occasions.
Despite the disappointment of missing out on promotion with the Whites, they will be expected to secure promotion next season even despite the ongoing financial uncertainties.
Leeds could end up losing several of their key players. The club reportedly need to raise upwards of £100million in player sales, which is why the likes of Crysencio Summerville, Wilfried Gnonto, Archie Gray and Georginio Rutter have all been linked with moves away.

However, Farke will still be expected to get the club out of the Championship at the second time of asking. If not, questions are likely to be raised about his capacity as manager at Elland Road.
Until then, he will lead the Whites into the 2024/25 campaign and, hopefully, finish next season with promotion rather than heartbreak.
