Danny Murphy changes his mind live on air with new Leeds relegation claim

Leeds United are among the favourites to be relegated from the Premier League.

Leeds have started the season in great form, winning two and drawing two of the opening seven league matches.

Leeds were beaten by Tottenham last time out, despite a hostile Elland Road crowd trying to drag them back into the game.

Daniel Farke will hope that his side can exceed expectations and stay in the division after a positive start.

Danny Murphy switches his Leeds prediction

Leeds have been predicted to stay in the Premier League by a supercomputer, but some observers still believe that they will be relegated.

Danny Murphy originally picked the Whites to go down, before changing his mind moments later, after apologising to supporters.

Asked about the relegation battle, live on talkSPORT (11:38am), he said: “Off the top of my head, I would go Burnley, Wolves, and Leeds.

“Sorry, Leeds, I hope I am wrong.

“I might swap Leeds actually, I think Brentford might slip below Leeds.”

Murphy prediction shows Leeds are doing something right

The fact that Murphy changes his mind midway through his prediction, after having a think about it, suggests that the Whites are going in the right direction.

If they can maintain their current form, there is every chance that they can avoid relegation back to the Championship.

Farke and Co need to limit the outside noise, and focus on their performances on the pitch, otherwise, their levels could start to drop.

If the players and staff are distracted by opinions from elsewhere, it could decrease their focus on the task at hand, and get them too emotional.

It has been a good start, now, they need to consolidate it after the international break and ensure that they are not in the drop zone conversation at the end of the season.

If they are, it could be a dangerous time for Farke’s side, and they could find themselves close to going back down.

They have to continue their good performances and hope that the sides around them in the relegation mix underperform throughout the campaign.
