Danny Mills urges caution despite Leeds United amazing start to season

Danny Mills has urged Leeds United fans to not “judge” the players after the first three matches of the new Premier League campaign.

The Whites have had a fantastic beginning to their season where they have managed to register seven out of the possible nine points and have not suffered a defeat as of yet.

Mills, while talking to the Express, heaped praise on Brenden Aaronson who according to him looks like a ‘decent player’.

“Aaronson looks a decent player,” Mills told Express Sport. “I think they tried to get him in the window previously but couldn’t pull it off. I’ve always said, players that go to a new club have an adrenaline flow in the first three or four games when they’re up for it.

“It’s like the new team that gets promoted – there’s a buzz. There’s excitement and an extra dose of energy. Suddenly, after five or six games, reality can sometimes click in. You may have a dip in performance and then you start to work it out.

“Don’t judge these players after three or four games because anyone can have a fantastic game but longevity is key. You’ve got to do it week in, week out over the course of the season. Undoubtedly there’s potential in there, but they’ve got to keep proving it.”

Great beginning

While Mills might have a point about not judging things so early in the season, Leeds fans will not care about anything as they couldn’t have asked for a better start to their new season.

Those results become even more special considering how the club performed in the last season and also because they’ve lost two star players in Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips who joined Barcelona and Manchester City.

A lot of credit must be given to manager Jesse Marsch as he has clearly made the team look like a well-oiled machine and the Elland Road-faithful will be hoping that the players continue to perform in a similar manner in the matches to come as well.

Next up for Leeds is a tough test where the players will be tested to the maximum of their ability as they travel to American Express Community Stadium where they will face an in-form Brighton & Hove Albion who are also coming off the back of securing an impressive win away from home against West Ham United.
