Danny Mills suggests where Leeds United should aim to finish this season
Danny Mills has suggested that Leeds United should aim to finish within 12-16th in the Premier League this season.
The former Leeds defender wrote said to The Sunday People that the Whites should finish aim at reaching the 40-point mark this season.
Last season, the Whites narrowly escaped relegation. Mills feels that if they can reach that point tally, then the club can look to build for the next season.
“Leeds have to survive this season and get to between 12th and 16th,” said Mills to The Sunday People.
“If they do that – and as soon as they hit the 40-point mark – then they can start building for the following season.”
Possible
After a good start to the season, Leeds have suffered a bit of a dip in form.
They suffered two defeats in their last three games, picking up only one point.
In their previous league game, they suffered a 5-2 defeat against Brentford.
Till the 80th minute, Leeds had a good opportunity to close the game, but they made costly errors at the back.
It can happen. This is a team that is going through a transformation under Marsch.
During the summer, the club lost two exceptionally talented players, Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips, and they added new faces to their team.
The newcomers have done well so far, well some of them, but it will take to see the full effect of their impact.
The early signs are very positive though, but the Whites still need to improve their defending. It’s too early to say how the season will unfold, but chances are high that the Whites will cross the 40-point mark easily.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites have reached an agreement to sign a left-back, according to his agent.
