Danny Mills shares Leeds United title verdict after what he saw v Bristol City
Danny Mills believes Leeds United will have to perform better than they did against Bristol City to win the Championship.
The Whites travelled to Ashton Gate on 26 October, but neither team could find the back of the net as the game ended in a 0-0 draw.
Daniel Farke’s team could’ve gone level on points with Sunderland at the top of the table but have missed that opportunity, and Mills spoke about the club’s title hopes on talkSPORT [26 October, 2:36] after the fixture.
“Unfortunately, now for them, it gives those around them an opportunity to go and win and put a little bit of a gap between them,” he said.
“Everybody around the football club midweek were…, ‘We’re going to win this league’. They’re going to have to perform a little better than that if that’s what’s going to be the case.”
Leeds United missed opportunity against Bristol City
Leeds went into the Bristol game high on confidence after beating Watford 2-1 in the league on 22 October.
The Elland Road faithful had every right to back their team against the Robins, who had won just one of their last five fixtures in the league before hosting the Whites.
Daniel James came close to creating the opening goal, while Willy Gnonto had the best opportunity during the game to seal the tie, but Liam Manning’s team’s defence was resolute.

As things stand, Farke’s team are still second in the table for now, but if Burnley win their game against QPR, the Peacocks could go down the table.
It shouldn’t be much cause for concern, though, as the season is long, and there are plenty more games to play and catch up with the competitors.
What should also be taken into account is the fact that Leeds are missing some of their key players at the moment, and the second half of the season could be entirely different if the German manager has everybody available.
