Danny Mills shares concern as ‘huge’ Leeds United claim made v Sheff Utd
Danny Mills has one concern for Leeds United ahead of their crucial Championship clash against Sheffield United on Monday
The Whites are currently two points ahead of the Blades in the second-tier table with a win leaving them well on course for a top-two finish in the Championship by the end of the season.
Daniel Farke’s men have been one of the most dominant forces in the league this term and Monday’s clash against Chris Wilder’s men could be the crucial point in their campaign.
Ahead of the clash, Mills touched on why the game could end up being “huge” for both title contenders.
Team | Position | Games Played | Points |
Leeds United | 1st | 33 | 72 |
Sheffield United | 2nd | 33 | 70 |
Burnley | 3rd | 33 | 65 |
Sunderland | 4th | 33 | 62 |
Danny Mills concerned by Leeds game-management ahead of Sheff Utd game
Going into the clash on Monday, both Wilder and Farke’s men have a lot riding on whoever leaves Bramall Lane with three points.
Of course, the spoils could be shared and both Yorkshire outfits could add another point to their tallies but with how much is balancing on the game itself, it’s hard to see how it won’t be an all-out war for the three points.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (20 February), former Leeds defender Mills shared how he is worried at times by Leeds‘ game management.
“Oh yes, my only concern about Leeds is sometimes, earlier on in the season, is their game management,” he said.
“At the moment they don’t need any game management because they’re blowing teams away – okay they beat Sunderland in the very last minute.
“They’ve got a front four that can be replaced by an equally as good front four, that’s their biggest strength.
“They score goals, they’re on the attack all the time, so their defence doesn’t have to be as good – it’s been very, very good.
“It’s a huge game at Bramall Lane, there’s a slight little gap now opening up between Sheffield United and Burnley.”
Daniel Farke needs to lead Leeds United to a win
Leeds’ upcoming game against United could end up being one of the most important of their season.
At the moment, everything seems to be going smoothly at Elland Road with the Whites comfortably sitting on the top spot.
However, as the gap to Wilder’s men is only two points, a defeat could turn things on their heads almost instantly.
While there would only be a one-point gap between the two teams going into the last 12 games of the season, it still feels like it could be enough for United to win the Championship title.

Indeed, the Whites would probably still earn themselves automatic promotion as the end of the campaign came around but it would be the icing on top of the cake for Farke to bring the title back to Elland Road.
Monday’s game might not end up being the be-all and end-all situation it’s building up to be but knowing Leeds’ luck, it could end their quest for the title.
