Danny Higginbotham praises 'huge' point for Leeds v Crystal Palace

Leeds United’s point against Crystal Palace on Monday was a ‘huge’ point according to former Premier League defender Danny Higginbotham.

Jesse Marsch’s side were far from their best, but a battling 0-0 draw in South London means Leeds have now picked up 11 points from their last five Premier League matches.

Leeds are currently five points above Everton in 18th, however, the Toffees do have a game in hand.

Yet, former Premier League defender Higginbotham believes their Selhurst Park stalemate will be an important point come the end of the season.

Have Leeds done enough?

At present Leeds do look like the side that are in the driving seat to secure a Premier League berth for the 2022/23 season.

with three wins in their last five and unbeaten since the 10th of March, Jesse Marsch’s men have certainly found form at the right time.

Although Leeds face a torrid run of fixtures, particularly in their next three matches.

Marsch’s side host Manchester City and Chelsea either side of a trip to Arsenal who are chasing a Champions League spot.

City could potentially rest players due to their Champions League commitments and Chelsea could do the same in the lead up to the FA cup final.

Nonetheless, both fixtures will still be a significant upgrade on the teams Leeds have faced of late

Everton also face a Chelsea and Arsenal, however, Burnley have a favourable run-in with just one of the current top six to play.

Despite Leeds’ upturn in form, we will have a far better idea of the outcome of their season after their next three fixtures.

In other Leeds United news, Marsch is predicted to axe a senior player from his line-up against Manchester City after footage emerged this week.
