Danny Baker fires jibe at Leeds United after Sky Sports post
Leeds United are now on the verge of Premier League promotion, but they still have a lot of work to do before the start of next season.
Leeds can secure promotion to the top flight if they beat Stoke City on Easter Monday depending on other results, after a roller coaster of a season, following their 1-0 victory away at Oxford United.
Daniel Farke’s side endured a concerning dip in form in recent months, which put their promotion push in jeopardy, but they steadied the ship and are now heading up from the Championship.
Next season in the Premier League will not be easy, though, and they have now been mocked ahead of a campaign which will likely see them involved in the relegation battle.

Baker mocks potential Leeds relegation
If Leeds return to the top flight, they will face a difficult challenge as promoted teams in recent years have struggled to compete in the Premier League.
All three promoted teams went down in 2024, and this is set to be the case again as Southampton, Leicester and Ipswich Town all appear destined for the drop.
Journalist and comedian Danny Baker has now mocked Leeds as a result and claimed that they will go straight back down to the Championship.
“The race is on to fill the bottom three places in the Premier League 2026,” he posted on X in response to a Sky Sports post about the promotion race.
Premier League survival will be tough for Leeds
Leeds will have to operate smartly, and luck may play a part if they are to avoid the drop in their first season back in the top flight since 2023.
The difference in transfer budgets between the Championship and Premier League has meant that it has been tough for promoted sides to compete, as the established sides have had years of investment in their teams.
Leeds’ dip in form in March also showed the warning signs that they are not yet ready for the step up. A new goalkeeper will be needed to replace Illan Meslier as a priority, and several other squad additions will need to be made.
Some clubs have had mixed success when changing managers upon promotion, and questions also remain over whether Farke should be the coach to lead Leeds at the start of next season.
