Daniel Farke was ‘worried’ after wild Leeds scenes as fists thrown at Plymouth

Leeds United are heading to the Premier League as champions after securing the Championship title with a 2-1 victory against Plymouth Argyle.

Given how well Leeds have been doing of late, there were some expectations going into the game that it would be a simple afternoon for the Whites.

However, it took until the 91st minute for victory to be sealed with Manor Solomon scoring the late winner.

Farke left worried amid Leeds celebrations

The main thing for Leeds this season was gaining automatic promotion to the Premier League and having already achieved that, it took the pressure off Farke’s men.

That being said, to go up as champions is always special and it would also serve as a great reflection on how good this squad have been.

On Saturday, it seemed as though Leeds were going to have to settle for second place, so it’s no surprise that when Solomon scored in added time, the crowd went wild.

It wasn’t just the crowd who let their emotions pour out, either, with the players visibly emotional on the pitch, celebrating how much the goal meant to them.

Although most of the Leeds contingent inside the stadium were on cloud nine, Leeds Live reported that Farke had his mind focused elsewhere as the celebrations went rowdy.

According to the report: “When the winner hit the net, all hell broke loose. Fans went flying, flares were lit and Solomon was somewhere among a heap of players.

“The bench sprinted towards the goalscorer with Wilfried Gnonto laid out, punching the pitch in delight and disbelief. Farke stayed calm, worried about his formation now that he had six or seven attackers on the field with six minutes of added time to go.

“There was a bit of commotion on the far side. It seemed as though a few fists were thrown but the reason for that is not known, aside from the fact it came after the goal, which had triggered a home mass exodus.”

Farke seeking answers about his future

Leeds’ promotion was somewhat dampened when conversations surrounding the future of the manager followed almost straightaway.

Although the boss has done an excellent job with his side in the Championship, anxieties surrounding his previous form in the Premier League has reportedly left the 49ers considering whether to part ways with him.

You can understand that the owners want to have the right people in place ahead of what will be an important season in the Premier League.

However, it does seem harsh when you consider how well the German has done this season and after that final day league win, it surely has to buy him some consideration.

The celebrations highlighted just how much of a tight knit group there is at Elland Road and the importance of that cannot be underestimated going into the new term.
