Daniel Farke ‘unlikely to start Leeds United player ever again’ after controversy
Beren Cross believes Daniel Farke may never start one of his Leeds United players again after what has happened over the last couple of weeks.
The Whites have been the best team in the Championship this season, but they crumbled when they faced off against Millwall in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday.
Alex Neil’s men defeated the West Yorkshire outfit 2-0, and even though some Leeds fans may point to their second-string team being out, the likes of Willy Gnonto and Pascal Struijk both started the game.
However, there was one player in particular who had an absolute howler and as a result of his performance, may never start a game for Leeds again.
Josuha Guilavogui no longer trusted to start for Leeds United
Josuha Guilavogui is a name that many fans will remember for years to come despite the little impact that he’s had on the team.
The Frenchman has been an almost-perfect role model for the youngsters and his behind-the-scenes work has often been lauded by those around him.
But taking to X (11 February), The Athletic journalist Cross shared he doesn’t think the midfielder will be named in Farke’s starting XI ever again.
“He’s unlikely to ever start for Leeds again, but behind-the-scenes voices have Guilavogui pinned as a big difference in this season’s push,” he wrote.
“He’s the cult name the players will talk about if they look back on a 2025 promotion over the coming decades.”
What did Josuha Guilavogui do?
The two times the 34-year-old has started for Leeds this season have ended up being less than impressive performances from the Frenchman.
During Saturday’s game at Elland Road, however, things went from bad to worse as Guilavogui brought down Casper de Norre in what was a blatant red card that he somehow managed to get away with.

The Frenchman planted his studs into the leg of the Belgian’s shin and should have been sent off there and then
Alongside this, his passing was way below par and it seemed that he wasn’t able to keep up with the Lions’ pressing at times.
So, it’s not a surprise to see that Guilavogui is unlikely to start for Leeds again because, after all, he was initially only brought in to help plug the gap that Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev left when both midfielders received long-term injuries, leaving Leeds short in the centre of the park.
Even though they were left light in midfield, in some ways it worked out for the best as both Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell proved their worth and cemented themselves as key players for Farke’s system.
