Daniel Farke to accept FA charge as risk of longer Leeds United ban emerges
Daniel Farke is set to accept a Football Association charge in order to avoid potentially worse sanctions.
Farke was sent off by Peter Bankes after entering the pitch following Leeds‘ 1-0 loss to Manchester City on 28 February.
Graham Smyth, the Yorkshire Evening Post journalist, claimed on 5 March that if he had appealed and it not been heard before the weekend, it could have seen a longer ban that impacted Premier League games.
Given that the Elland Road side have been dragged back into the relegation battle, it makes sense for Farke to not appeal.
What Leeds game will Farke miss after FA charge is accepted?
Smyth’s report claims that the Whites were not expecting a favourable outcome in the case, but they may have gotten the best one.
He states that Farke is expected to serve a one-match ban in the FA Cup clash with Norwich City on 8 March.
That is a much better outcome than if he had missed a league game, given the current circumstances for the Whites.
Farke’s future in doubt amid Leeds chiefs’ decision
Farke has had a dismal week, his future is in doubt, his side are back in a relegation fight, and now he will serve a ban.
Leeds chiefs are understood to have postponed contract talks after a poor run of form that has seen the side win just two of their last 13 league matches.

The Peacocks are just three points above the relegation zone now, but Farke deserves credit for getting his side to this point.
All involved with the LS11 club need to keep their composure in the final few weeks of the campaign, the German is the right man for the job, to keep them in the division, he just need to be given faith from those above him.
The board cannot afford to make a drastic decision and fire him, because it would likely backfire at this point of the season.
Farke has shown that he can get the best of out of this playing squad, and he has also proven that he is willing to adapt tactically to change his side’s fortunes, so hopefully, he can do that again and ease any pressure.
