Daniel Farke threatens to quit if Leeds United sanction Archie Gray transfer
Daniel Farke has been considering his role as Leeds United manager amid the transfer speculation surrounding Archie Gray, according to LeedsAllOver.
The online media outlet reported on 30 June that the German was “seething” over Leeds’ hierarchy’s decision to sell the 18-year-old in a £35million-plus deal [David Ornstein, 29 June].
However, Graham Smyth reported on Sunday (30 June) that a deal is now off – for now, at least – due to a disagreement over the payment structure.
Brentford look set to return with a new offer, however, while a number of other Premier League clubs are also hopeful of snapping up the youngster.
What happens next for Archie Gray and Leeds?
Gray has been the subject of a plethora of rumours this summer and they don’t look set to die down any time soon.
Graham Smyth implied in his 30 June report that the deal for the transfer of Gray had broken down due to an issue between the two clubs regarding a payment schedule.
Leeds do need to make some sales this summer in order to ensure they abide by the Championship’s PSR.

However, they aren’t in desperate need to sell one of their best players thanks to the recent investment from the Red Bull group.
A deal for the youngster has also still not been completely written off as both Tottenham and Chelsea are still lurking to hijack the move.
Brentford could also still be in with a shout so long as they can iron out when and how to pay Gray’s entire fee.
Leeds fans will be desperate for Gray to stay for another 12 months, but the truth is that an exit now seems more likely than ever – despite the rejected Brentford approach.
In other Leeds news, the Whites have been given a potential boost in bringing Connor Roberts back.
