Daniel Farke targeted by Norwich City fans with four-word chant in Leeds United draw

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke was the subject of a four-word chant from Norwich City fans after being booked in their match on Tuesday.

LeedsLive journalist Beren Cross reported on 2 October that he’d overheard chants of “sit down, shut up” from the home fans towards Farke after he was shown a yellow card on the touchline.

Farke was cautioned after complaining about a free-kick given in Norwich’s favour during a frustrating 1-1 draw against his former employers, with Large Ramazani’s second-half equaliser rescuing the Whites.

The midweek Championship grind is starting to kick in again this season, and couldn’t have come at a much worse time for Farke’s depleted squad at Elland Road.

Heading to Carrow Road without injured captain Ethan Ampadu, the Peacocks lost another influential midfielder just 20 minutes into the contest with Ilia Gruev the latest player forced off the pitch.

Already 1-0 down thanks to Josh Sargent’s penalty by this stage, the early period of the match set the tone for the Whites, who struggled to break Norwich down throughout a difficult away trip.

Although Wilfried Gnonto’s influence and Ramazani’s well-taken strike got the Whites back on level terms, United fans will be wondering what it’s going to take to emulate Farke’s Norwich of years gone by.

Farke won two Championship titles in three seasons at Carrow Road, and despite being just one goal from promotion last season, it appears the German is yet to crack the same code in LS11.
