Daniel Farke speaks out on Patrick Bamford at Leeds United
Daniel Farke believes Leeds United would be in the Premier League now if Patrick Bamford was fully fit at the end of last season.
Bamford has had it rough with injuries in recent seasons and has only just returned to the first-team squad after his latest period on the sidelines.
Speaking in his pre-Watford press conference on 21 October, Farke hailed the England international despite his fall down the pecking order.
“For me, he doesn’t have anything to prove anymore,” he said.
“He’s a top-class player and I spoke about this, I’m 100 per cent sure that with a fully fit Patrick Bamford, we would be playing in the Premier League right now.
“We missed him in the run-in a lot and he was our go-to guy.”
Patrick Bamford to fire Leeds United to Premier League again?
The Whites narrowly missed out on promotion last term after losing to Southampton in the Championship play-off final.
Leeds were one of the most dominant teams in the league last season but fell just short, losing too many games in the final weeks of the campaign.
The 2024/25 season has been no different, the club are one of the favourites to gain promotion this term and has lived up to those expectations thus far.
Farke’s men are currently third in the table, just three points behind the league leaders, Sunderland.

Signings such as Joe Rodon and Largie Ramazani have helped the club bounce back from past disappointment, with the likes of Mateo Joseph also stepping up.
Bamford came off the bench in the 2-0 win over Sheffield United on 18 October, with injuries in midfield now the main issue as Joe Rothwell shined against the Blades.
It will be interesting to see how Farke manages his squad, but it is clear that Bamford will still have a role to play between now and the end of the season.
