Farke sack verdict shared live on Sky Sports as Leeds backed for major overhaul
Daniel Farke has not let the speculation surrounding his future at Elland Road affect Leeds United’s on-field performance.
Even though Leeds have won promotion to the Premier League, the 48-year-old could face the sack thanks to his poor record in the top flight with his previous club, Norwich City.
The Whites have been linked with a swoop for former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, currently with Turkish Super Lig outfit Fenerbahce, among numerous others.
But Farke has successfully guided the Elland Road club to five successive wins, while victory over Plymouth on the final day would see Leeds win the Championship title.

Farke backed to stay at Leeds and have a busy transfer window
The German has proven his worth by steering Leeds to the Premier League at the second time of asking, after losing in the Championship playoff final last season.
Speaking about Farke’s future on Sky Sports News [29 April, 10.36am], Andy Hinchliffe said, while he would stick with Farke, he would not be surprised if the 49ers to pull the plug.
“He has to be in the job when the Premier League season starts in August, but what has to happen, he has to adjust the style of play.
Championship (Top three) | Games played | Goal difference | Points |
1 Leeds | 45 | 64 | 97 |
2 Burnley | 45 | 51 | 97 |
3 Sheffield Utd | 45 | 27 | 89 |
“You cannot play in the Championship like you’re going to have to do in the Premier League to get results to survive. Surviving in the Premier League is totally different to getting to the Premier League.
“He’ll have to adjust the way that he plays if he’s in the job, and Leeds have to give him a serious amount of money to spend.
“You’re looking at probably six or seven players coming into that squad to enable them to stay in the Premier League.
“We’re seeing it season on season now, teams that get promoted, this season, Ipswich, Leicester, Southampton, are going straight back down again.
“But I’m not surprised by the Farke speculation at all. We’ve seen everything in football and I wouldn’t be surprised if they went with someone with more experience.”

Leeds should stick by Farke
The gap between the Premier League and the Championship has become wider than ever in recent years, as demonstrated by the fact that this term will mark the second consecutive season in which all three newly promoted sides have been relegated.
Therefore, it is easy to see why Leeds owners 49ers Enterprises could be tempted to replace Farke, who boasts a less-than-desirable top-flight record.
However, after guiding the West Yorkshire giants back to the Premier League, Farke deserves to stay in the Elland Road dugout and should not be replaced.
But as alluded to by Hinchcliffe, Leeds should adjust their style of play once they are competing in the top tier next season.
Southampton’s relegation this term has largely come as a consequence of the fact that former boss Russell Martin did not change his playing style, and the Saints were often dispossessed in dangerous areas.
The Whites must also heavily invest in the summer transfer window to equip Farke for the Premier League.
