Daniel Farke shares return timeline for injured Leeds United trio Junior Firpo, Djed Spence and Stuart Dallas

Daniel Farke has confirmed that injured Leeds United duo Stuart Dallas and Djed Spence should return to team training in the next two weeks.

Spence suffered a knee injury after making just one substitute appearance following his loan move from Tottenham, while Dallas has been out for almost 18 months after breaking his femur in May 2022.

But both are set to return to team training in the next 10-14 days according to Farke, while he also expects Junior Firpo to be available in the coming weeks after returning to team training himself.

“I hope they can return soon,” he said.

“Junior [Firpo] is back in team training. Stuart [Dallas] is in individual training and Djed [Spence] is in the last stages of his rehabilitation.

“Obviously Djed has been out for eight weeks so when he returns to first-team training it won’t be straight away that’s he’s available. I hope Djed and Stuart can return soon, maybe in 10-14 days, to team training and then we will see.”

Boost

Leeds have got a huge squad and there have been some question marks over how well Farke has used it so far with limited rotation over the season.

But Firpo, Spence and Dallas are all likely to be key members of the first-team under the manager when they’re fit and their returns to fitness can only be seen as a positive thing.

Spence was a key signing and his injury was a huge blow to the team, but nobody has really been able to nail down that right-back spot since with Luke Ayling currently finding himself behind natural midfielders Archie Gray and Jamie Shackleton in the pecking order.

Firpo would provide natural left-back competition to Sam Byram too and a real attacking threat which would suit our front-foot game more than it did in the Premier League, and Dallas is a leader.

Having them back and available for selection after the international break will be a huge boost for the team and we can really kick on then to push for promotion.
