Daniel Farke shares ‘monster’ admission after incident in second half of Leeds United v Hull

Daniel Farke has shared an admission about an incident that happened in the second half of the Leeds United game against Hull City on Wednesday (20 September).

Speaking in a press conference after the game (via Phil Hay), the Whites boss said the Tigers had a “monster chance” when Adama Traore missed an open goal in the 89th minute of the 0-0 draw at the MKM Stadium.

Farke added that his side should have been “more clinical” but that it was a “good point” factoring in the miss and that he was happy with the performance of his players.

“After 89 minutes they had a monster chance, which would normally be a goal,” said Farke. “So for that, and in these circumstances, definitely a good point. We should be more clinical but performance-wise, I’m happy.”

A let off

It was a huge let off for Leeds in the closing stages of the game because there is absolutely no way Traore should have missed that chance.

The Mali midfielder could have earned all three points for Hull, but that would’ve been harsh on the Whites after they limited the hosts to very few chances in the game.

Farke’s side were well on top before Joe Rodon was sent off for a second bookable offence on 60 minutes and they managed to compete well and grind out a point from that moment onwards.

The Leeds boss will have been frustrated to not see his team take some of the opportunities they created in the first half, but he was still happy with the effort they showed.

It’s by no means the worst point and it’s another game without the Whites losing and a clean sheet in the bank, so there are plenty of positives to take as they prepare to host Watford on Saturday (23 September).

In other Leeds United news, one player could be set for a permanent Whites exit following an £82million development.
