Daniel Farke shares Connor Roberts update ahead of Leeds United clash v Plymouth
Daniel Farke has revealed that Connor Roberts will travel with the Leeds United squad for the FA Cup replay with Plymouth Argyle at Home Park.
The Burnley loanee is not able to make his debut on Tuesday (6 February) for the replay, as he was not registered as a member of Farke’s squad for the original tie at Elland Road, which saw Leeds draw 1-1 with the Pilgrims.
But while the Welshman won’t feature in the playing squad at Home Park, he will make the trip to the southwest with the rest of the team as Farke hopes to integrate him quickly into his changing room.
As quoted by The Yorkshire Post on Monday (5 January) he said: “He needs a bit of time to adapt, to impress in training. We’ll take him with us to Plymouth so he gets the feeling for our processes and stays with the lads to adapt to the unity and spirit.
“He is still at a good age. He’s still on the way up the hill, not down the hill. We got the feeling he’s desperate to be part of this group knowing it’s not like he’ll come in and the next day wear the captain’s armband, take all penalties and free-kicks and be the main guy.”
Roberts ready to make an impact at Leeds United
Farke has received plenty of praise for his man management since arriving at Leeds United and this example is just another example of how the German manages to integrate new talents into his squad.
Many managers wouldn’t bother taking a player to an FA Cup away day that they weren’t able to play in, but the German views this as the perfect opportunity to bed the Welshman into the changing room.

Roberts will be available for the Whites when they welcome Rotherham to Elland Road on Saturday (10 February) and hopefully, he will be able to make an immediate impact as he develops the relationships with his teammates.
With the Welsh connection across Farke’s team at Elland Road as well, the right-back should be able to slot right into Farke’s system.
