Daniel Farke sets Crysencio Summerville new challenge at Leeds United
Daniel Farke has challenged Crysencio Summerville to keep up his excellent form in front of goal after a “really good week” for the Leeds United ace.
The Dutchman scored and assisted twice at Elland Road in the Whites’ 4-1 win over Huddersfield Town on Saturday (28 October), having also managed a brace against Norwich City at Carrow Road in the first game after the October international break.
Many had been critical of the 22-year-old for his lack of cutting edge last season and while Farke has admitted that he has improved his end product, he has called upon Summerville to find some consistency and continue this hot streak in the coming weeks.

As quoted by Leeds Live (30 October) he said: “I think especially in terms of end products he has improved a lot in comparison to the start of the season. I think he was more or less in many, many games already playing on the top level.
“He becomes more comfortable in these terms. Also due to hard work at Thorp Arch on the training ground because we’re always bringing him into a situation where he has to finish, to find the finishing pass and the pressure and he’s definitely in a good way but it’s about consistency.
“Quality is to deliver over a long-term period. So really good week, especially in this terms of end products. But come on keep going also in the upcoming games.”
Consistency
Summerville has been a revelation so far this season and has arguably been one of the highlights of Leeds’ return to the Championship and has outperformed the likes of Wilfried Gnonto and even Dan James when many were questioning whether he would play regularly.
In 11 Championship matches including nine starts, the 22-year-old has ten goal involvements and is currently overperforming his xG and expected assists as it feels as though he can do no wrong currently for the Whites [Fotmob].

However, that won’t count for a lot should Summerville take his foot off of the gas in the coming weeks and the Dutchman has to be looking to match the standards he has set in his last two starts every time he steps onto the pitch for Leeds United.
Farke has so much depth in the wide areas at Elland Road and should Summerville’s form dip, he will have no issue in restoring one of Gnonto or Jaidon Anthony to the starting XI. That means that nobody can become complacent in the Leeds side and Summerville must match the expectations of his manager.
