Daniel Farke set to face new issue at Leeds United after recent injury update

Daniel Farke is set to face a new “issue” at Leeds United after a recent injury update, according to Beren Cross.

The Whites’ first-team squad has been down to its bare bones in recent weeks, particularly with both Dan James and Manor Solomon ruled out through injury in the lead-up to the international break.

But reports suggest both wingers could be in line to return after the international break [Leeds Live, 7 October] and Leeds Live journalist Cross believes it could be hard for Farke to manage his “embarrassment of riches”.

Speaking on The Square Ball YouTube channel (8 October, 23:35) he said: “I mean that is going to have an embarrassment of riches having those four.

“I think [Largie] Ramazani and [Willy] Gnonto have done really well in their absence over the last week or so, so to have James and Solomon, you are looking at arguably the four best wingers in the league, in the same squad.

“It’s going to be another issue for Farke to manage then.”

What has happened to Tottenham loanee Manor Solomon at Leeds United?

While it isn’t going to be easy for Farke to keep all the members of his squad happy when everyone is back from injury, the Whites boss will likely just be relieved to actually have some options to choose from once again.

The last few weeks have seen Leeds United forced to rely on Gnonto and Ramazani to play each and every week and although both players have impressed, Farke has been open about wanting to manage their workload.

Hopefully, with both James and Solomon expected to be back fit and available after the international break, the German boss will not only be able to make changes to his starting XI but also rotate his attacking options during games.

It is very rare that small squads manage to win promotion to the Premier League from the Championship because of the mental and physical toll that the division’s schedule takes on players so Farke needs as many options to call upon as possible.
