Daniel Farke set for career first in Leeds United vs Aston Villa amid sack update

Daniel Farke is under pressure of the sack as he prepares his Leeds United side to face Aston Villa.

Farke has come under scrutiny at Leeds, with recent results and performances leaving supporters increasingly frustrated at Elland Road.

The Whites suffered defeat on the road before the international break as Nottingham Forest secured a 3-1 win over Leeds at the City Ground.

The LS11 outfit will be keen to get back on the winning trail, with Leeds set to host Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday.

A clash against the Villans will represent a first for Farke, as he battles to avoid losing his job in Yorkshire.

Daniel Farke has never faced Unai Emery

Aston Villa will represent a tough test for Leeds as the claret and blue outfit have continued to go from strength to strength in recent years.

The Midlanders featured in the Champions League last season and are looking to qualify for Europe’s elite competition this campaign.

Things couldn’t be much different for Leeds right now, as the prospect of relegation remains firmly on the cards after 11 games.

Newly promoted sides have typically struggled in the top flight, but Leeds had an ideal start that has quickly faded away.

Things won’t get any easier against a Villa side who have been in top form under Unai Emery in the past 10 games across all competitions.

This is especially the case, as Farke has no prior experience dealing with the Spaniard or his tactical approach.

In over 560 games managed, the German hasn’t come up against many better than Emery, making this one an even sterner test for the Elland Road club.

Leeds United have poor record vs Aston Villa

Not only has Farke never managed against Emery, but he is also up against a shocking recent record for Leeds against the Villans.

The Whites haven’t beaten Villa since 2020, when a stunning Patrick Bamford performance secured a 3-0 win away in the West Midlands.

That feat hasn’t been replicated ever since, with the B6 club securing three wins in the last five, with the other two being draws.

If Farke is to secure a win over Emery in their first career meeting, he will also have to turn around this record, which certainly won’t be easy.

A negative result could end in the sack for the Leeds boss, but a positive performance is all the Elland Road faithful want to see.
