Daniel Farke sack update emerges as new contender for Leeds job named
Gary O’Neill has emerged as a candidate to replace Daniel Farke at Leeds United.
Farke is on thin ice at Leeds after a run of six losses in his last seven Premier League matches, which has left the Whites in 18th place.
Leeds’ squad are behind Farke, but that may not prevent the 49ers Enterprises from taking action, and dismissing the German from his post.
42-year-old O’Neill last managed in the top-flight with Wolves, where he was sacked in December 2024 with the Old Gold sitting in 19th place.

Gary O’Neill linked with Leeds post as Daniel Farke doubts remain
Farke‘s time at Elland Road may come to an end in the near future, and talkSPORT reported on 3 December that O’Neill is in the frame to replace him.
They stated that the Whites are lining up the former Wolves man for a return to management if they decide to sack their current manager.

It also claims that Ange Postecoglou and Brendan Rodgers are also contenders for the role, if the ownership makes a change.
What is O’Neill’s record in the Premier League?
If O’Neill does come in, then his task will be to keep the LS11 outfit in the top-flight, and he has previous for keeping teams in the division.
In August 2022, he was placed in interim charge of Bournemouth after Scott Parker left, and ended up guiding the Cherries to safety in April.
However, that was not enough to keep the job, and Andoni Iraola was appointed as the boss on the south coast in June 2023.
He was later appointed by the Molineux club, and led them to a 14th-place finish in his first season in charge, in an impressive first campaign in the dugout.
The following season would not go as planned, though, and he was dismissed with the club sitting four points from safety, and has not been back in management since.
He would be a gamble for the Yorkshire club, as he has a 31 per cent win record in his career as a manager, which is lower than Farke’s 45.93 per cent record.
