Daniel Farke risks almighty Leeds howler after Jack Harrison reveal

Daniel Farke has a clear decision to make on Jack Harrison this weekend.

Leeds United play host to Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon, knowing just how important a win is going to be.

Not only for their chance to pick up some points before the end of the year, but also to relieve some of the pressure that has been building for Farke.

However, if the German is to achieve that, there is a clear call that needs to be made in regard to Harrison, and history shows exactly why.

Jack Harrison’s record vs Villa is horrifying

Harrison is far from the most popular man at Elland Road, though Farke has consistently picked him in his matchday squads since the Whites returned to the Premier League.

All but one have been from the bench, but Harrison has made 10 appearances for Leeds this season, and is yet to register a goal or an assist in 262 minutes of football.

His record in that regard is bad enough, but his record throughout his career against Aston Villa showcases exactly why Farke cannot make the same mistake.

In the 12 appearances he has made against the Villans, Harrison has won on just three occasions.

Nine of those games have been in the Premier League, with one win, three draws and five defeats in that time.

To make matters worse, the 29-year-old has never scored or registered an assist against Aston Villa, whether that be when he has played for Everton or for Leeds.

Leeds need a win on Sunday, and if history is anything to go by, it’s highly unlikely to come if Harrison plays a part.

Dan James must return for Leeds vs Aston Villa

Dan James has not had a good season, but Leeds have lacked any real attacking threat in his absence, though the same can be said for Willy Gnonto.

Brenden Aaronson has played in his absence, though it is evident that he is not a winger, and Farke must realise that this weekend, if he is to relieve some of the pressure on his shoulders.

Noah Okafor is likely to start once again, with Lukas Nmecha potentially given the nod to lead the line, and James could be the glue to get the front three working in a way that it hasn’t for most parts of this season.
