Daniel Farke makes new Junior Firpo admission after recent Leeds United red card
Daniel Farke has revealed he is a “big fan” of Junior Firpo having impressed at left-back for Leeds United.
Firpo has been a mainstay at Elland Road this campaign and his performances have been worthy of the starring role he has received under Farke.
With four goal contributions, the full-back has demonstrated his ability to contribute at both ends of the pitch, with Farke bigging up the defender in his pre-Blackburn press conference (28 November).
“Overall, you know I am a big fan of Junior Firpo,” he said. “I have supported him and put him in when he’s fit.
“He’s repaid my trust with shining defensive behaviour and in the offence.”
Junior Firpo has been a shining star for Leeds United
Farke has quality all over the pitch this season and it comes as no surprise to see the Whites perched at the summit of the Championship.
Firpo is just one of several players who have showcased their ability as a leading player in this division and Leeds would simply be much worse off without him.
Especially in modern-day football, there’s a heavy emphasis on full-backs being able to contribute going forward while remaining resolute at the back and he thrives at it.
Many of Leeds United’s attacks come down their left side, with Firpo playing a key role in the transition from defence to attack.

Keeping him fit could prove crucial to their hopes of remaining at the top of the league and if they can do so, it will be one position that is locked in place ahead of the January transfer window.
The Whites will undoubtedly be looking to strengthen their squad but his performances so far show that there is no need to consider any further reinforcements in that area.
