Daniel Farke ‘redundancy package’ revealed as Leeds sack story drops
Leeds will have to pay Daniel Farke out of his contract at Elland Road if they were to sack the German at the end of the season.
Even though Farke has led Leeds back to the Premier League, the former Norwich City boss’ future in West Yorkshire is under major scrutiny due to his past record in the top flight.
Leeds can win the Championship title for the second time in five years this weekend. All Farke’s men realistically need are three points away at Plymouth on Saturday (3 May), or to simply better or match Burnley’s result against Millwall at Turf Moor.
However, despite a promotion-winning season, Farke could find himself out of a job very soon, and a discussion about his severance package has emerged.

49ers Enterprises have final say on Farke sack
Paraag Marathe has a busy few weeks on his hands.
Not only is the 49ers Enterprises chief mulling over the future of Farke at Leeds, but he’s also in the middle of a takeover bid at Rangers, which should be completed soon.
According to The i Paper, the decision on whether Farke will leave Elland Road or not is in the chairman’s hands with chief strategy officer Robbie Evans and head of football operations Adam Underwood alongside him.
Chief executive Angus Kinnear and transfer adviser Nick Hammond are both leaving Leeds to join Everton, meaning that much change is already going ahead at LS11.
And if the Whites were to sack Farke, George Simms reports that while any “redundancy package will be invonceneient” for the Yorkshire club, “it won’t be crippling” due to the fact the German’s contract only has two years left to run.

What is Farke’s Premier League record?
Leeds are reportedly considering Farke’s future because his previous record in the Premier League has been bleak.
While his Championship record has been a series of successes, he has faltered in the top flight.
At Norwich, he was given the whole of the 2019/20 season but ended up finishing rock bottom of the table, a whopping 14 points away from safety.
Although he oversaw an instant return to the Premier League, one win in 11 games saw him axed by the Carrow Road leadership.
Games | Wins | Draws | Losses | |
Norwich 19/20 | 38 | 5 | 6 | 27 |
Norwich 21/22 (Sacked in November) | 11 | 1 | 2 | 8 |
There’s no exact science to staying in the Premier League.
In each of the last two seasons, the three promoted teams have been instantly relegated back to the Championship, even though the spending levels of newly risen teams have been through the roof.
The gap between the Premier League and the Championship is growing ever wider.
But if there’s a team to bridge that gap, it’s one that’s as big a club as Leeds United.
