Daniel Farke rages at Georginio Rutter in Leeds United loss v Sunderland

Graham Smyth has shared an unseen Leeds United moment from the 1-0 defeat against Sunderland that left Daniel Farke fuming on Tuesday 12 December.

The Yorkshire Evening Post journalist revealed that the German was raging at Georginio Rutter for failing to control a pass from Joel Piroe on the break.

It was an odd off-night for the French youth international, who had zero success as Sunderland succeeded in defending their goal with every man behind the ball.

Writing in the Yorkshire Evening Post on Wednesday 13 December following the loss, Smyth shared what he spotted from the Stadium of Light.

“Farke fuming as Rutter failed to control a pass from Piroe with Leeds on the break,” he wrote.

“Summerville hopping mad in frustration as he begged for team-mates to speed up the attacking play.”

Fuming.

It is easy to single out anyone who did not perform to their top level at the Stadium of Light, but not one player really left with any praise on a poor evening.

Leeds are unlucky in the fact that Ipswich and Leicester are winning every week and getting serious slices of luck, but they have also earned that, something the Whites didn’t do last night.

Rutter, Crysencio Summerville, Dan James and Piroe were simply crowded out and frustrated to maximum levels, and Sunderland have to be praised for that, no matter how poor it was to watch.

The best thing about the Championship though is that the games come thick and fast and Leeds will have the chance to bounce back against Coventry in only three days.

Farke will certainly be tempted to ring the changes to get some fresh legs into the side, with limited changes in recent weeks that may have caught up with them.

Rutter is one to watch this weekend, he has to be better.
