Daniel Farke provides Pascal Struijk injury update amid Leeds United ‘fear’
Pascal Struijk could return to training at Leeds United sooner than expected after Daniel Farke revealed there was no tendon damage involved in his injury
Struijk could return to training within the next week [Beren Cross] after an injury sustained prior to Leeds’ clash with Sheffield Wednesday, with Farke confirming he didn’t suffer any tendon damage.
Struijk underwent a scan to determine the damage of the injury, with it transpiring he hadn’t hurt his hamstring tendon.
The Whites have managed in his absence, having won both games since his injury, but his return will provide a huge boost.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday (23 January), Farke said: “Good news – the tendon is not involved.
“We feared Pascal may be out for 10 or 12 weeks. I’m not relieved yet because I have what happened last season in my head.”
Pascal Struijk return will be huge for Leeds United
Given the nature of the injury, many will have expected Struijk to be out of action for several weeks at a minimum, but the latest update suggests that won’t be the case and it’s a huge boost for the Whites and Farke.
Struijk has been a mainstay for Leeds this season and has earned the reputation of being one of the best defenders in the Championship. While his side have coped without him, his presence going forward will make it far easier to obtain necessary results.
If Leeds are to maintain their place at the summit of the division, having a fully fit squad will be paramount to that.

As things stand, Leeds sit one point above Sheffield United in second place and three points above Burnley in third.
Next up for the Whites is a clash with Burnley, which is very much a promotion six-pointer.
