Daniel Farke on verge of Leeds United manager job, transfer talks start – Phil Hay

Leeds United are finally on the verge of appointing Daniel Farke as their new manager, according to Phil Hay.

The Athletic journalist has shared that talks are underway over terms with the German and his coaching staff to get them in place at Elland Road this week.

Leeds are said to have made it clear to Farke that he was their man, and transfer talks have already started with the former Norwich manager heavily involved.

All of this still looks to be dependent on the takeover being formalised for the 49ers Enterprises by the EFL, although they know the green light will come.

That will mean Andrea Radrizzani is fully out of the building and the American consortium can really kickstart their plans for immediate promotion.

Done.

This one is as good as done with Farke being told he has the job and transfer talks starting in terms of how the squad could change in the next couple of months.

It is just over one month until the Championship season starts against Cardiff at Elland Road, and with pre-season testing starting today, things are moving quickly.

Farke needs to be in charge for the first session at Thorp Arch later in the week, with work needing to start straight away ahead of what promises to be a huge season.

Leeds cannot get stuck in the Championship after three years of Premier League, and it is clear that the 49ers agree with that and are putting steps in to make sure it doesn’t happen.

Having said that, takeover or not, this is really starting to frustrate everything and the sooner the announcement is made, the better, and that is for everyone involved.
