Daniel Farke must drag Leeds United ace off at half time v Norwich, he made just 17 passes
Daniel Farke needs to take Glen Kamara off the pitch at half-time against Norwich if he wants to turn the result around for Leeds United after a shocking first-half display.
Farke’s side fell a goal down after just four minutes when Shane Duffy headed in, but Kamara has been especially poor in the first half as the Finnish midfielder struggled to make any impact on the game.
After a poor international break, both Kamara and Farke would have been hoping any poor displays wouldn’t carry over upon his return, but Farke must get him off the pitch now if he wants to turn the game around.
In the first 45 minutes, Kamara touched the ball just 22 times. Playing in the centre of midfield in a side that likes to keep the ball and move it around in an attempt to dominate the game, he was completely ineffective. Only seven accurate passes after 35 minutes rose to just 17 before half-time. [Sofascore]
It’s not as if the midfielder was more defensively focused either, as he competed in just one duel. He did win the aerial battle and missed a big chance, but to not be involved in a single-ground duel in the first half is shocking form.
Of his minimal touches on the pitch, Kamara still managed to give the ball away three times, and he didn’t make a single block, interception, or tackle which outlines how little he influenced either phase of play in attack or defence.
Ilia Gruev and Jamie Shackleton would offer interesting options from the bench, while Archie Gray could be moved back into his natural position for the second half with Luke Ayling dropping into right-back in place of Kamara, but something has got to change.
