Daniel Farke makes ‘wasteful’ Leeds United admission after Bristol City stalemate

Daniel Farke believes that Leeds United were “wasteful” in front of goal in their 0-0 stalemate against Bristol City.

The two Championship sides faced off at Ashton Gate on 26 October and the point means Leeds are still third in the table, five points adrift of the league leaders Sunderland.

In quotes reported by the Yorkshire Post (27 October), Farke shared that even though the Whites did “more than enough” to win the game, things just didn’t go their way in front of goal.

“We always play to win, rather than avoid losing, and we did more than enough to win this game,” he said.

“But we were not at our very best and were wasteful in front of goal. It was a very solid away performance, but we had so many good situations to score.

“If we had got one, it would have opened things up and I am sure more would have followed. But we are respectful of Bristol City, who have started the season well and are a very good side.

“There is frustration over not getting all three points.”

Leeds United need to improve their Championship performance

Being third in the table means the West Yorkshire outfit are still within touching distance of the top spot in the Championship.

There are five points between the Mackems and the Whites but it feels like Farke’s men could easily mount a title charge this term if they can find some consistency.

Leeds’ summer window saw several players come through the Elland Road doors and have since helped them form one of the best teams in the league.

Many expected Farke’s men to be storming the Championship and running away with the title but at the moment that hasn’t been the case.

While their performances have more often than not been solid, it feels like there’s still more to come.

If Leeds want to be taken as serious title contenders this term, they need to be winning games against teams such as the Robins otherwise they’ll have no hope.

The season is still young and there’s plenty of time for things to turn around especially if they start putting their chances away consistently.
