Daniel Farke livid with Pascal Struijk in unseen Leeds United moment v Derby
Daniel Farke was livid with Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk for an incident that occurred in their 2-0 win over Derby County on Saturday, according to Graham Smyth.
The journalist wrote in his unseen moments for the Yorkshire Evening Post [8 December] that Farke was not happy with Struijk overhitting a pass in the second half of the game under no real pressure.
Farke was said to be “hopping with rage” on the Elland Road sidelines as Leeds went on to pick up all three points on 7 December.
Leeds United must avoid complacency
Thankfully, the overhit pass from Struijk proved irrelevant in the grand scheme of things but it is a sign of complacency prevailing and it must be stopped.
On another day that complacency could be the difference between winning a game and not, which in the larger picture can be the difference between Premier League football or Championship football next season.
The margin for error can be that tight in this campaign, just as it was in 2023-24.
With that said, the general performance from the Whites against Derby was impressive and it was a deserved win, with Paul Warne claiming the game made him “uncomfortable” as a result of Leeds’ quality.

The Christmas period will say a lot about the Whites’ true promotion credentials, with games coming thick and fast, and the main takeaway will be how many points they can pick up between now and January.
If that complacency keeps creeping in, it could be less than perhaps expected and Farke will no doubt be aware of that.
