Daniel Farke must axe Georginio Rutter for the Leeds United v Millwall clash after his performance against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
The big-money Whites player quite surprisingly, was named in the eleven with Joel Piroe playing as the number 10 and the Frenchman leading the line.
It proved to be a blunder by Farke as Rutter struggled to get involved in the game and failed to do what any striker does – offer a goal threat.
The German revealed, per Leeds Live, that he’s already had talks with the French striker after his dismal performance against Wednesday.
It was baffling as Piroe shone on his debut and found the back of the net against Ipswich so the assumption was that he would be leading the line for this one as well.
Hindsight is 20-20 but had the Dutchman started this game, there is a fair argument to be made that they would’ve won the contest and picked up their first three points at home this season.
Rutter struggled in this game as he lost 75 per cent of his aerial duels, per Sofascore, so could not be the out ball on counter attacks and neither could be a target man to score from crosses or set pieces.
He also completed just 10 passes all game and shockingly, lost possession as many times, so these aren’t stats he will be too proud of.
Rutter moving out of the eleven would see Piroe starting as the striker and Wilfried Gnonto, Crysenscio Summerville and Dan James as the players behind him while new signing Jaidon Anthony might also be a good option.
