Leeds United: Graham Smyth shares what Daniel Farke did at full-time v Watford
Leeds United manager Daniel Farke raced over to Georginio Rutter immediately after the full-time whistle sounded against Watford, according to journalist Graham Smyth.
Rutter was heavily involved as Leeds secured a deserved 3-0 win over the Hornets at Elland Road on Saturday [23 September] to climb into the Championship play-off zone.
As the home fans inside Elland Road saluted Rutter and his team-mates, Farke made a point of walking over to the 21-year-old on the field.

As pointed out by Smyth in his review of the match for the Yorkshire Evening Post [23 September]: “Farke made a beeline for the club’s record signing at the full-time whistle.”
The Whites’ big-money January signing played a part in two of his side’s three goals, including an assist for substitute Jaidon Anthony’s strike late on.
X-Factor
Rutter may not have been on the scoresheet himself against Watford, but he produced a superb display that ensured home supporters got their money’s worth.
The France U21 international played three key passes – only team-mate Daniel James (four) managed more from players on both sides – while his tally of seven dribbles was unmatched [WhoScored].

While he can at times be frustrating to watch, particularly when spurning good chances and attempting tricks that do not come off, there is no doubt that Rutter has the quality to help Leeds earn an instant return to the Premier League.
Justifying the fee Leeds paid Hoffenheim – potentially rising to £36million – is going to be extremely tough.
But Rutter showed once again against Watford that he has the ‘X-Factor’, and hopefully there is more of the same to come.
In other Leeds United news, a Whites player has been ruled out for at least a month through injury.
