Daniel Farke hit by medical red warnings ahead of Leeds United v QPR
Leeds United returned to the top of the Championship table with their 2-0 win over Millwall at Elland Road on Wednesday.
Sheffield United had momentarily climbed to the second tier’s summit thanks to a 1-1 draw with Bristol City on Tuesday.
However, the Whites took full advantage of their game in hand, and now sit top of the league with just nine games to go, leaving supporters very hopeful of a Premier League return.
Millwall defender Jake Cooper inadvertently diverted the ball into his own net to hand Daniel Farke’s men an early 1-0 lead.
Leeds midfielder Ao Tanaka then secured all three points for his side on 85 minutes, as he bagged the second goal of the night.

Farke makes injury admission ahead of QPR v Leeds
The Whites will have an opportunity to pull five points clear of automatic promotion rivals Sheffield United when they face QPR on Saturday, as the Blades are not in action until Sunday, when they take on Steel City Derby rivals Sheffield Wednesday.
Opponent | Result |
Sunderland (H) | 2-1 W |
Sheffield United (A) | 1-3 W |
West Brom (H) | 1-1 D |
Portsmouth (A) | 1-0 L |
Millwall (H) | 2-0 W |
Ahead of his side’s crucial trip to Loftus Road, Farke delivered an update on his squad, as reported by Beren Cross on X: “No injury concern.
“Every player last night seems to be available for this game.
“Isaac Schmidt felt unwell and was out last (Wednesday) night.
“In training today and could be a topic this weekend.”
Farke continued: “They (the medical department) are always worried and give warnings (about players in the red zone), but I pick the team.
“They present data and opinion about recovery status, but it’s my responsibility to take the call.
“If it doesn’t work, they can’t be blamed.”
Leeds should enjoy another win against QPR
Leeds were in fantastic form in February, when they defeated Watford 4-0 before enjoying back-to-back wins over automatic promotion rivals Sunderland and Sheffield United.
The Whites then endured somewhat of a wobble when they were held to a 1-1 draw by West Brom on 1 March before then falling to a 1-0 defeat at Portsmouth last Sunday.
However, Farke’s men got themselves back to winning ways when they defeated Millwall 2-0 on Wednesday, and should now be confident of picking up a win over QPR which would further bolster their increasing promotion credentials.
Last time out against Marti Cifuentes’ side back in November, Leeds enjoyed a 2-0 win thanks to goals from both attacking full-back Jayden Bogle and hotshot Joel Piroe.
Even on away soil, the West Yorkshire giants should prove too much for QPR to handle as they look set to book their spot in next season’s Premier League.
