Daniel Farke lacks ‘Plan B’ as ‘Carnage’ Leeds United accusation made
Daniel Farke does not have a plan B at Leeds United and often relies on his forwards to create “carnage”, according to Sam Parkin.
The Whites bounced back from their defeat to Millwall last week with a 2-0 victory over QPR at Elland Road on Saturday (9 November), courtesy of goals from Jayden Bogle and Joel Piroe, but failed to impress fans with their lacklustre performance.
Parkin reckons this might be because Farke does not have the tactical acumen that some of his current and former Championship counterparts have.
“I think the sense is that Daniel Farke just lacks a little bit of a plan B… lacks maybe the tactical acumen of maybe some of the other managers that they have had or some of the other managers that have been in the Championship in the last few seasons”, Parkin said on the Championship Check-in podcast on Monday, 11 November.
“We probably saw that didn’t we in the playoff final against Southampton.
“Sometimes it feels a little bit like ‘we have good players, forward players in particular, go and create carnage and win us the game’.
“So, maybe it’s a bit of a product of that.”
Daniel Farke lacks ‘Plan B’ as ‘Carnage’ Leeds United claim made
It would not make sense to read too much into Leeds United’s performance against QPR as they appeared to be relaxed about facing a team battling relegation and winless since August.
Farke’s decision to start an out-of-form Manor Solomon ahead of Dan James highlighted his approach towards the game.
Solomon was so poor that it appeared the Whites were playing with 10 men, but it did not prevent them from cruising to a run-of-the-mill win.
At the end of the day, Leeds are placed third in the Championship after 15 games and are only two points behind table-toppers Sunderland, making them a major contender to secure one of the two automatic promotion spots.

What the Elland Road outfit need to avoid, though, is unnecessary defeats and draws. They have lost the same amount of games as Sunderland Sheffield United (two) above them, but drawing five games has seen them drop two points behind the top two teams.
There is no doubt that Farke has a team good enough to earn automatic promotion this season.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites have been tipped to make a “big time” January move for this player.
