Daniel Farke hoping for return of Leeds United ace Djed Spence for Rotherham clash
Early team news has emerged ahead of the Championship clash between Leeds United and Rotherham, with Djed Spence hoping to return to first-team training, according to Beren Cross.
The Leeds Live journalist claimed [14 November] that the international break will provide an opportunity for a number of injured players, with Daniel Farke hopeful of a return from injury before the game on 24 November.
Spence was named alongside Jamie Shackleton and Joe Gelhardt as players Farke is hoping to have fit, while the break will also provide an opportunity for Stuart Dallas, Pascal Struijk and Sam Byram to make progress.

The break came at the right time
This international break has come at the perfect time for Farke and Leeds, as it will allow some of their short-term injury concerns to ease ahead of their next Championship clash. With three expected to return during the break, it will prove a boost to the squad.
Byram, for example, was taken off injured in the victory against Plymouth Argyle with a hamstring issue, of which the severity has not been confirmed, but a two-week break could allow him the rest needed to return stronger.
If Byram is out for an extended period then the return of Spence will be even more welcome news to the boss, as he would be able to fill in at left-back, or slot into his natural position on the right which would allow Archie Gray some rest or a return to his natural position.

Shackleton and Gelhardt have played their part so far this season as rotation options and Farke will be thankful for the increased depth his side will receive when these players return to full training.
In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay shared Daniel Farke’s “hate” claim in their first meeting.
