Daniel Farke has new ‘job’ lined up as BBC shares Leeds sack update

Daniel Farke will not be short of options if he leaves Leeds United at the end of the season.

The German tactician has lived up to his reputation as a promotion specialist after leading Leeds back to the Premier League this season.

However, the Elland Road outfit are now considering parting ways with Farke amid concerns over his credibility as a Premier League manager.

Paraag Marathe previously claimed that he would back the former Norwich boss if he were to earn promotion, but there appears to be a U-turn on the cards.

BBC presenter shares Farke sack update

Leeds understandably became a topic of discussion on BBC Football Focus in the wake of their automatic promotion to the Premier League, with Shay Given describing it as ‘big news’.

The former goalkeeper is looking forward to how the Whites will look to close the gulf with other top-flight teams, especially since they are backed by owners who can inject money.

However, the pundit raised doubts over Farke’s future at Elland Road amid talk of him being sacked.

“It [the gulf between promoted teams and others in the Premier League] is big, and it seems to be getting bigger”, Given said on BBC Football Focus (26 April, 12:44 pm)

“I think Leeds as well, obviously a big club to be back in the Premier League, as well, which is big news for them.

“They’ve got new owners now as well with a bit more money behind them, so it will be interesting to see how much they support the manager if he’s still going to be there next season.”

Meanwhile, Aaron Paul shed light on Farke’s situation, admitting that there is a lot of uncertainty over the manager’s future in West Yorkshire.

The BBC presenter also suggested that the 48-year-old could return to his ‘beloved’ Norwich if he is sacked by the Peacocks.

“A lot of talk about Daniel Farke’s future”, Paul said.

“There is a job at Norwich City, his beloved Norwich City as well, where he won promotion twice.”

Leeds must be ruthless with Farke

It is true that Marathe has previously expressed his support for Farke, and it would be hypocritical of the Leeds chairman to sack the manager now.

However, the 49ers chief must put the Whites’ interest at the forefront and be ruthless with the former Borussia Monchengladbach manager if needed.

Southampton and Leicester are confirmed to be dropping back down to the Championship after earning promotion last season, while Ipswich are on course for the same.

The Premier League is an increasingly difficult division for newly-promoted teams to survive, and the likes of Leeds have little to no margin for error there.
