Daniel Farke delighted by ‘perfect’ Nick Hammond update coming out of Leeds United
Daniel Farke has stared his delight over the news that Nick Hammond has been retained by Leeds United until the end of the season, labelling it the “perfect decision”.
The transfer consultant was appointed at Elland Road to oversee the summer transfer window on a temporary basis, but the Whites have since revealed that he will remain in post with Leeds until the end of the 2024 summer transfer window.
Leeds were incredibly active in the summer as they attempted to build a squad capable of making an immediate return to the Premier League and having worked alongside one another already, it is clear that Farke is looking forward to the opportunity once again.
As quoted by Phil Hay (28 November) he said: “He’s brilliant. He’s also key to our success in the recent months, gaining more stability. He’s fully committed to our club and it’s a perfect decision to keep him for longer.”
Perfect decision
It is quite remarkable just how well Leeds United managed the summer transfer window considering so many players departed Elland Road, with a number of those exits happening in the closing stages of the transfer window.
Add to that the fact that a couple of players downed tools in an attempt to force through moves just to add a further element of chaos. Yet somehow, the Whites have begun the season with an incredibly well-put-together squad more than capable of winning promotion.

The additions of the likes of Ethan Ampadu, Glen Kamara and Joel Piroe have to be commended as not only have they hit the ground running themselves, but they have improved the general standard of play of those around them and helped Leeds go from strength to strength.
It appears as though the January transfer window will be much quieter at Elland Road, but with the combination of Farke and Hammond, Leeds supporters will be confident that any additions they do make to their squad will help them improve on what is already in position.
Perhaps the better example of just how perfect a decision this was from the Whites hierarchy could come next summer, as having Hammond’s services could be crucial when the loan army return to Elland Road from their temporary spells away.
