Daniel Farke crunch talks mooted for Patrick Bamford at Leeds United amid exit speculation
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson has backed Patrick Bamford to score 20-plus goals in the Championship next season if he chooses to stay at the club.
Bamford is reportedly ready to leave the club following their relegation [MailPlus] as Daniel Farke assesses his squad ahead of his high-stakes return to the second division.
The 29-year-old has struggled over the last two seasons with a combination of injuries and poor form stunting his career after an excellent 17-goal haul after Leeds’ Premier League return in 2020/21.

Robinson, however, claims that Leeds do not need to look further than the Englishman if they want a prolific goalscorer and that Bamford would stand head and shoulders above other Championship forwards.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said: “Patrick has struggled with injuries. He had a fantastic season but then was blighted with injuries. He was never able to recapture the form that he was able to in that fantastic 2020/21 season that he had.
“He can do it, and I think at a Championship level he will stand out against others. Whether he wants to do it, whether it’s his personal desire to do it at Leeds United is another thing.
“There’s a conversation to be had with the manager, but he hasn’t got much time to sort his squad out. I think Patrick Bamford playing for a good Leeds side in the championship will score 20-plus goals and get the team out of that league which I what they need.
“Regardless of if it’s Bamford or not, they’re going to need a seasoned striker. Rutter, the club-record signing, another of Victor Orta’s signings that haven’t exactly set the world on fire, there’s a lot to be decided on his future.
“But for me. I would like to see a fully fit Patrick Bamford play in a good Leeds side in the Championship next year.”
In other Leeds United news, Robinson claims that youngster Leo Hjelde could play a role at Elland Road amid links to Serie A.
