Daniel Farke and Mateo Joseph update as words exchanged after Leeds United win
Daniel Farke and Mateo Joseph were seen exchanging words at full-time after Leeds United beat Swansea in the Championship.
In an off-camera moment caught by the Yorkshire Evening Post [25 November], after the Whites’ 4-3 victory against the Swans on 24 November, the German manager pulled Jayden Bogle and Joseph in to discuss with them.
The Spanish youngster, who came on as a substitute in the 75th minute, spent a bit more time than the right-back with Farke and seemed to be explaining something to him.
Daniel Farke surely disappointed with Mateo Joseph after Swansea v Leeds United
The German head coach must’ve surely been disappointed with the 21-year-old striker, who failed to have much of an impact in the match.
In the 15 minutes, Joseph was on the pitch for Leeds, he made just three passes, and only one of them was accurate, as per FotMob.
The Spaniard had eight touches on the ball and had just one shot, which an opposition player blocked.
Farke had to rely on Joel Piroe in the starting lineup after Joseph flattered to deceive as he started in the 2-0 victory over QPR on 9 November.
While finding the back of the net four times in a game is encouraging, the Elland Road faithful will rightly be concerned about their defence, as well as the number nine position.
Piroe is the West Yorkshire club’s leading goalscorer this season, but the Dutchman looks better when playing as a number 10 rather than the striker.

Patrick Bamford has been phased out of the starting lineup by Farke this season, and Joseph is now responsible for taking the mantle and delivering.
The 21-year-old has featured in every league game for the Whites this season, but has scored just two goals and provided three assists.
It looks like the German manager is trying to find a way to unlock the Spaniard’s potential, but at the end of the day, the striker needs to be able to apply those ideas on the pitch, which he has rarely been able to do so far.
