Dan James will ’cause problems’ for Leeds United in Championship – Sky Sports pundit

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United

Dan James’ future at Leeds United has been discussed by former Whites goalkeeper and Sky Sports pundit Paul Robinson.

According to The Athletic’s Phil Hay on 1 June, “discussions” are taking place that suggest he will be involved next season.

The 25-year-old has now returned to Elland Road after his loan spell at Fulham and Robinson feels his pace “will cause problems” in the Championship.

“I think it depends on the manager. He’s an acquired taste. We’ve seen managers like him, we’ve seen managers leave him out. He’s a bit like Aaronson – he’s a wasp in a bottle,” Robinson exclusively told MOT Leeds News.

“He needs a bit of direction. He hasn’t played an awful lot at Fulham this year. Leeds loaned him out on the proviso that they were getting another player in January and that didn’t quite work out.

“It will be interesting to see what happens. He’s certainly a very good player with a lot to give. His pace in the Championship will cause teams problems.”

James came on in the second half as Wales drew 0-0 with Poland over 120 minutes, before missing the decisive penalty in the shootout that followed.

The former Swansea man featured 24 times in the Premier League last season, scoring two goals and registering one assist for the West Londoners.

Leeds are closing in on their new managerial appointment with Daniel Farke and Patrick Vieira the frontrunners at present.

In other Leeds United news, one big-name manager is now in pole position to be next in charge at Elland Road.
