Dan James spotted in ‘really nice’ Leeds United moment after win v Harrogate
Dan James was at the centre of a “really nice” moment after Leeds United beat Harrogate Town 1-0 in the FA Cup third round, Beren Cross has shared.
The Wales winger was spotted giving his shirt to Harrogate defender Anthony O’Connor, who then took it over a young supporter in the visiting end at Elland Road after the game on Saturday (11 January).
Athletic journalist Cross detailed the touching moment with a post on his personal X account (11 January).
“Really nice moment. Harrogate defender Anthony O’Connor comes over to ask Dan James for his shirt. Gets it and then takes it over to a young supporter in the away end,” Cross wrote.
Dan James has been a shining light for Leeds United this season
The 2024/25 season has already been full of ups and downs for Farke and his men.
While they may currently sit at the top of the second-tier table, it still feels like more could come from the West Yorkshire outfit.
They have one of the strongest teams in the Championship and the fact there’s only one point between themselves and second-placed Burnley should be a cause for concern.

While the likes of Largie Ramazani and Manor Solomon were brought in over the summer to fill the voids left by Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter, it feels like James is the one who’s really stepped up to the plate consistently.
The Welshman may have been injured for a large chunk of the season, which caused him to miss a fair few games, but since his return he’s been one of the first names on the German’s team sheet.
As long as the former Manchester United man can keep his form up to this level and Leeds’ defence can stay formidable, it feels like there should be nothing to stop them from earning Premier League promotion this season.
In other Leeds United news, fan unrest has been predicted as a player’s return to Elland Road is mooted.
