Dan James has admitted that his injury shouldn't keep him out of Leeds United action for "too long" after missing the clash with Hull City.

The Welsh international missed the win over the Tigers at Elland Road with a hamstring injury which also saw him miss out on Craig Bellamy's squad for the September UEFA Nations League fixtures.

Although no exact timeframe has been placed on the winger's return, James himself has insisted that the injury isn't "too bad" hinting that he could return to Farke's squad in the near future.

Speaking on The Second Tier Podcast (8 September, 1:20) he said: "Just a slight injury that's going to keep me out not for too long, but unfortunately I'm going to miss the internationals.

"Just a hamstring so it's not too bad but obviously gutted to miss this weekend's game but thankfully it's not one that's going to keep me out too long."

How long is Leeds United attacker Dan James injured for at Leeds United?

While Leeds United certainly have the quality in their squad to cover James while he is injured, it will be a massive boost to Farke and his coaching staff if the winger can get himself fit and available for selection sooner rather than later.

Having not always been the most popular of figures at Elland Road, the Wales international has gone on to become a crucial part of Farke's side with his pace and direct style offering a different dimension to the squad.

It may not be easy for James to force his way back into the fold however, especially after Manor Solomon hit the ground running against the Tigers following his late loan switch from Tottenham.

Partner Solomon's form with the arrival of Largie Ramazani and it could take a while for James to break back into Farke's starting XI, especially as Wilfried Gnonto continues to impress week in and week out.

Hopefully, it won't be too long before supporters see the 26-year-old back in a Leeds shirt. Farke will need all the depth he can get if he wants to win promotion this term.
