Dallas and Ayling react as Leeds fan Luke Humphries wins Premier League Darts title

Leeds United fan Luke Humphries won the Premier League Darts title.

The 30-year-old has been vocal about his support for the newly-promoted Premier League outfit, urging the 49ers to spend in the upcoming transfer window.

He bested Luke Littler, who took great pleasure in winding up the crowd in Yorkshire a few weeks ago, to lift the trophy at the O2 Arena in London.

Leeds legends react as Humphries wins darts title

The Elland Road outfit have enjoyed a wildly successful season and Humphries now has even more reason to be delighted.

The club took to Instagram after his victory, saying: “Congrats to Luke Humphries on completing the triple crown, after becoming darts’ Premier League champion tonight!”

Stuart Dallas and Luke Ayling, who have made a combined 535 appearances for the Whites, liked the post.

Current stars Dan James, Joshua Guilavogui and Harry Gray also liked it, as well as another icon in Liam Cooper.

Humphries will want Leeds to have successful season

The darts supremo will be hoping that the positive momentum can continue on the pitch for his beloved Peacocks after a remarkable campaign.

Daniel Farke did an excellent job securing promotion back to the top-flight but it was a very hard task to keep them in the division.

The owners need to listen to Humphries and back the German significantly to bring in experienced top level players, such as Caoimhin Kelleher and Kostas Tsimikas.

New additions at striker, given doubts over Joel Piroe’s ability in the higher tier and a new goalkeeper, amid the uncertainty surrounding Illan Meslier, are the priorities in the market but there will also need to be other signings if they are to have any hope of survival.

It will be a very exciting summer for Humphries and the rest of the Whites supporters, awaiting the moves that will be made in the transfer window as Farke and Co try to shape the new squad.

However, if the Yorkshire club do not get it right, it could be disastrous, and they could come straight back down to the Championship.

Nobody is thinking about that possibility right now though, and the party will continue until the time to get back to business arrives.
